Lisa Girasoli (Italian for Sunflower)
Managing Director/Owner  (S.N.N.E.B)
Lisa started her career in childcare over 25 years ago, after qualifying, her first position was working for Glasgow City Council, after several years Lisa decided to open her first nursery close to where she grew up in Hardgate, Clydebank. In 2002 she opened her second nursery in Dalmuir and is extremely passionate about providing excellent high-quality childcare.


Susannah Turnbull – Manager HNC, PDA, BA
Susannah qualified over 20 years ago and has been working for Sunflower Nursery since it opened in 2002 and has successfully developed into the role of the manager for over 10 years. Susannah leads the team supporting staff and enabling them to provide high quality childcare and learning within Sunflower Nursery.

 

Susan Greig – Senior Nursery Practitioner/Admin Manager HNC, PDA, BA
Susan qualified over 20 years ago and has been working for Sunflower Nursery since it opened in 2002 and has successfully developed into her role.

The nursery staff

are qualified Childcare Practitioners who are passionate about the Early Years and committed to providing a safe and exciting learning environment for children. They are efficient, friendly and caring and always have time to speak to parents. 

   

Staff are kept up to date with changes in curriculum and early years policy through in-service training with West Dunbartonshire Council, outside agencies and in-house training. There are also a few members of staff working towards their Level 7 SVQ in Social Services, Children and Young People. Staff are encouraged and supported to undertake higher qualifications such as PDA Childhood Practice and BA Childhood Practice.

 

All staff have achieved QA level 3 award in emergency paediatric first aid.  Many of our staff have been awarded a PDA Administration of Medicines.

 

Staff/child ratios are set in accordance with The Care Inspectorate ‘Health and Social Care Standards’ Each child is matched with a key worker who works in partnership with parents to ensure individual progress and monitor development.

All staff are fully vetted, checked through the Protection of Vulnerable Groups and registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.
